Southwest Shipyard L.P. proudly celebrated its First Annual Employee Appreciation & Safety Festival, bringing together employees, leadership, and industry partners for three successful events across our facilities:
- Galveston — Tuesday, September 22, 2026
- Channelview — Wednesday, September 23, 2026
- Brady Island — Thursday, September 24, 2026
Created to recognize the hardworking men and women who contribute to Southwest Shipyard’s success every day, the festival combined employee appreciation with an important message that remains at the heart of our operations: safety is everyone’s responsibility.
Throughout the three-day celebration, employees enjoyed lunch, activities, raffles, health and safety resources, and the opportunity to interact directly with safety equipment manufacturers, service providers, and industry partners. The outstanding participation and enthusiasm from employees across all three facilities made our inaugural event a tremendous success.
The festival also provided an opportunity to reinforce Southwest Shipyard’s continued commitment to maintaining a strong safety culture. Our employees are our most important asset, and protecting their health and safety is a responsibility shared by every level of our organization. Our goal is simple—every employee should return home safely to their family at the end of every workday.
Thank You to Our Industry Partners
Southwest Shipyard extends its sincere appreciation to the vendors and partners who helped make this year’s events possible:
3M • Airgas • Allredi • CFE Safety • Pasadental • DeWalt • Ergodyne • Green Light Safety • Hutco • MSA • Signal Mutual • Texas Industrial Medical • Wurth
Their participation brought valuable safety resources, product knowledge, health services, and industry expertise directly to our workforce. We greatly appreciate their partnership and their shared commitment to protecting the men and women who work in our industry.
Recognizing Our Planning Committee
An event spanning three facilities would not have been possible without the dedication and teamwork of our Employee Appreciation & Safety Festival Planning Committee. Southwest Shipyard would like to recognize and thank:
Lucia Vicharra • Ashley Ortuno • Gracie Perez • Natalie Villarreal • Kristen Smith • Frank Morfin • Gerry Martinez Sr. • Gerry Martinez Jr. • Natia Pelaez • Rosemary Maldonado
From the early stages of planning through setup and execution at each facility, these individuals dedicated significant time and effort to making the festival an enjoyable and meaningful experience for our employees. Their teamwork, attention to detail, and willingness to step in wherever needed were instrumental in the success of all three events.
Most importantly, thank you to our Southwest Shipyard employees for their participation and for the work they perform every day. The enthusiasm and positive feedback received throughout the three-day festival demonstrated exactly why this event was created—to celebrate our workforce while continuing to strengthen the safety culture that protects them.
The overwhelmingly positive response to our inaugural festival has provided an excellent foundation for the future. We look forward to continuing this tradition and making the Employee Appreciation & Safety Festival an event our employees and industry partners can look forward to for years to come.
At Southwest Shipyard, employee appreciation and safety go hand in hand—because our people are what make our company successful.
