Wastewater Treatment Operator - Channelview, TX
You will be perfomring tank cleaning and manually remove rust and solids from cargo tanks as required. You will need to have experience working in confined spaces and working with supplied air at various times. Responsibilities include the following: Strip product heels from an empty barge, strip bilges from boats and barges, pump heels to transfer vessels. Operate dock equipment, vacuum pumps, transfer pumps, compressors, blowers, meters, vapor control equipment, hoses etc. to accomplish barge cleaning duties. You must abide all safety rules and regulations and you are required to have a valid TWIC Card. You must be able to take directions from Foreman and Supervisor and work overtime as needed. The postions open are working Night Shift. Physical and Enviromental requires barge chemical environment, prolonged kneeling, standing, walking, twisting, climbing and the ability to lift and carry in access of 120lbs, assisted. Ability to work in varied conditions, inside and outside and able to work in confined spaces. you must be able to perform simple paperwork as required for filling out forms and logs. You must able to pass drugs screens and physical.

Previous experience includes, confined space exp, stick welding, etc.. Must have own equipment. Must be able to pass physical and drug screens.

Primary responsibilities are to manage the day-to-day operations of the on-site waste management units, on-site wastewater treatment system, third party wastewater, and groundwater recovery system with the following objectives:
- Class C Waste Water Operator certification/license required for TCEQ
- To collect and label all waste in container.
- To perform weekly inspections of the waste container storage areas.
- To perform all assignments required by management.
- To assist in the operation of the on-site wastewater treatment system.
- Transfer containers to the proper storage areas.
- Label all waste containers, properly.
- Maintain weekly inspections.
- Maintain records of residue generation
- Coordinate off-site transportation of solid waste to permitted facilities.
- Conduct laboratory tests and sampling, as directed.
- To perform all assignments required by management.
- Must be proficient in English, reading-writing-speaking, and understand MSDS information.
- Maintain job skills at the level needed for regulatory compliance.
- Must have good judgment skills and work initiative, and take good directions from Manager
- Able to work without contact lenses.
- Required to arrive to work on time and also work overtime hours as required.
- Understand general policies and procedures as described in the quality & environmental manuals
- Barge chemical environment.
- Requires prolonged kneeling, standing, walking, twisting, climbing, and the ability to lift and carry in access of 120 lbs assisted.
- Ability to work in varied conditions (i.e.: heat, cold, rain, ice, snow,<br> etc.), inside and outside.
- Able to work in confined space, heights and operate equipment efficiently and safely.
